BLACK APPLE CIDERY RECOGNIZED IN 2ND INTERNATIONAL CIDER COMPETITION THIS YEAR

An Arkansas cidery located in Springdale took home two prizes at the 2024 Cidercraft awards, which saw submissions from over 20 states across the United States and two international countries. Black Apple’s Hibiscus and Peach were both award winners in the seventh Annual international Competition. This is Black Apples 2nd Global Competition win in 2024.

Peach, a fruit infused cider, took home the highest award with Platinum in the Stone Fruit category. Peach is a semi sweet cider with a fresh peach flavor and a bright radiant finish.

Formerly a seasonal series, Peach is now available all year across Arkansas and NE Oklahoma.

Hibiscus, a semi-dry cider infused with hibiscus, took home the second highest award with Platinum in the Botanical category. Its radiant red hue and characteristic berry-packed zip complement crisp clean citrus and alluring floral aromas. The Hibiscus is Black Apple’s flagship cider and is also available all year across Arkansas and NE Oklahoma.

“We are humbled to have one of the most prestigious national cider publications choose two of our most classic ciders to win amongst hundreds of other top cider brands,” said Leo Orpin, co-founder of Black Apple. “Thank you for the recognition, Cidercraft Magazine. We look forward to continuing this momentum in 2024 for what has turned out to be a great year for Black Apple.”

Black Apple opened in downtown Springdale in July 2015 as the state’s only cidery. It manufactures and serves over 14 varieties of hard cider in a historic building and taproom on Emma Avenue. The cider has been available statewide in bars and restaurants since 2018 and in cans statewide since 2019.

Cidercraft Magazine profiles the artisans behind the craft alongside the powerhouses that produce for the public, while exploring the regions and orchards, meeting the movers and shakers in the industry, listing original cocktail recipes from industry bar chefs and matching professional pairings with cider-friendly cuisine.
